Afree Doll

Afreedoll was inspired by 5-year-old Eden. Born in France from a mother born in Burkina Faso and a father born in Benin, she unknowingly crystallized a magnificent mix, a triple societal and linguistic culture.

Eden loves to play with dolls. Her parents then looked for a doll that looked like her and that was able to speak to her both in French and in their mother tongue. Faced with the difficulty of finding this on the market, his father decided to create Afreedoll, with the desire for linguistic and cultural transmission at the heart of his DNA.

To go further on the theme of universal beauty and self-esteem, he gave Nayanka, his first doll, an afro cut, wishing to defend societal subjects dear to their culture and society of origin. So that Nayanka helps little girls to assume their African and mixed beauty, universal and multiple beauty.

So that Eden, too, loves her hair and skin color as it is, naturally. So that she knows and is proud of her origins, while growing up in France and learning English.

The name Afreedoll is a celebration of this vision, the fusion of the words “free” and “doll” in English, with “Africa” which can be seen in the background, at the source. Afreedoll, authentic toys open to the world.
