Freddy’s Comfort Food

The story of Freddy’s Comfort Food isn’t just about a restaurant, it’s about friendship that turned into a bond… made solid by the dishes that brought them together. Growing up in and around Rotterdam, Brian, Victor and Quincylino paid their dues in the community by working in kitchens and doing events, unknowingly that this would fuel their future. The passion between the three developed through time. The foodies inside of them created a curiosity that let to lots of home experimenting in dishes that were not available in their home town Rotterdam. However, it wasn’t until a trip to London that the Freddy’s Comfort Food concept would begin to form… In the starting periods of 2018 the three companions knew they wanted to start a restaurant. Mainly because they got a taste of the industry by providing food at several events and festivals. One day a trip to London, introduced them to a local chicken shop serving the Buttermilk chicken/where Buttermilk chicken was served. It was love at first sight and Freddy’s was born!

When the guys returned with flavorful memories their mission really began. The companions soon realized that the restaurant would not just stand for the chicken, but also for the People and the Culture. This turned out to be the keystones in the new chicken scene that Freddy’s Comfort Food wanted to create, striving for enjoyment when indulging the food. They set out creating Rotterdam’s ultimate fried chicken sandwich and introduced the new cult food sensation ‘Freddy’s comfort food’

After signing the lease agreement in Rotterdam, the decision was made to quit their jobs in order to pursue this dream called ‘’Freddy’s Comfort Food’’. Since then fried chicken & sandwiches have been served in store, at events and pop-ups in Rotterdam. It feels right that they have found their home on the Vierambachtsstraat.

Ever-growing queues, combined with selling out in the weekends, made them realize they were doing something special.

The culture of comfort food spoke deeply to the three friends by the simple fact that food plays a big part in their lives with each of them having their own cultural backgrounds. We’re truly proud of these dishes and it’s our mission to also share a moment with all of you.

The future is glowing and bright at Freddy’s Comfort Food. And it’s only getting hotter!
